POLICIES

Reservation Policy

Due to both safety concerns and personal preferences of our guests, we are an Adults Only hotel. Children under the age of 16 are not permitted to stay overnight in the hotel nor use the pool. The restaurant and beach club is open to the public.

In an effort to keep our rates as affordable as possible, we request if possible, payment in cash (US$ or local colones).

Room Rates are quoted in US dollars and are subject to 13% local hotel tax.

Reservations for Banana Azul can be made with your credit card over our secure server over the internet.

There are no refunds for late arrivals or early departures unless prior arrangement has been made. This includes delayed flights

Hotel Banana Azul & Villas Banana Verde are not responsible for any unforeseen event that may cause you to cancel your booking. This includes viruses, disease, sickness, pregnancy, weather, an act of nature, or any other event non-related to Hotel Banana Azul & Villas Banana Verde. In order to cover refunds for these cases, we recommend that you purchase a third party travel insurance in advance of your travel here in Costa Rica.

Don’t have or want to use a credit card?

We also accept direct bank transfers to our Bank Accounts accounts in Costa Rica. This really only works when you are making a transfer within the country. It can also work from other countries, but fees can be high (approx $20+)

General Group Policies

Reservations of 5 or more rooms will be considered a group booking and all the policies of a group booking will apply.
Minimum stay of 3 nights.
All meals included in the reservation rate.
Chauffeur Policy: special room provided with complimentary breakfast included.
Impossible operational conditions/natural disasters: the Hotel is not responsible for the effects of natural disasters, fires, floods, strikes, government ordered closures, or any other reasonable circumstance outside our control.

59 to 30 days before check-in– 50% of total reservation amount charged
29 to 15 days before check-in – 75% of total reservation amount charged
14 or less days before check-in – 100% of total reservation amount charged

Peak Season:

89 to 60 days before check-in – 25% of total reservation amount charged
59 to 30 days before check-in – 50% of total reservation amount charged
29 or less days before check-in – 100% of total reservation amount charged

Travel Agencies and Tour Operators

Hotel Banana Azul welcomes Travel Agencies and Tour Operators.

Banana Azul is happy to be one of the most popular choices on the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica.

While Banana Azul enjoys its high rating, we also recognize that our facility is not ideal for all travelers. We would appreciate that all agencies that are considering booking with us have clients visit our website and make sure Banana Azul is right for their vacation.

In addition to looking at Hotel website, we also suggest Puerto Viejo Satellite which has comprehensive information on the South Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica and is very helpful when planning a vacation.

Please also note the following policies and suggestions:

All Agency Reservations must be confirmed with a credit card or deposit (unless prior arrangements are made)
Reservations cancelled 30 days or more from check in date will not be penalized.
Reservations cancelled 29 days or less will be penalized 100% unless authorized by the manger. Reservations not paid after the 29th day may be cancelled WITHOUT NOTICE, unless authorized by the manager.
Please, no guests under the age of 16
We do not book groups with travel agencies
We do not allow pets

Our property is not ideal for senior citizens unless they are a well-traveled and adventurous type.
Full payment must be made 30 days in advance. Reservations not paid after the 29th day may be cancelled WITHOUT NOTICE, unless authorized by the manager.

Agency Commissions are 20%

Tour and Transport Bookings

Banana Azul has its own tour and transport provider, Caribe Fun Tours. All tours, transport and travel packages booked from Banana Azul are directed to Caribe Fun Tours.

Caribe Fun Tours also works with many international travel agencies to facilitate hotel, transport and tour bookings for their contacts using their extensive knowledge of the country and contacts and agency agreements with the most recommended Costa Rica hotels, transport and tour offerings.

Agencies that need help in this area are encouraged to contact Caribe Fun Tours directly. Banana Azul has had consistently good service and feedback from our customers regarding their services.

Please note, travel agencies that pay with a credit card will be subject to a 2% fee.
